Q: How do I use the collections at the Archives?
A: Please first consult GC&SERC's online catalog. Read any available
finding aid referenced in the record.
Note: whether some or all of the collection is available on microfilm or
not. Microfilm is available without appointment at GC&SERC's offices,
only by mail. Many photographs, documents, oral history interview
transcripts, and a growing number of the complete collection is freely
accessible online. Go to our Digital Collections home page to learn
more. Use of unmicrofilmed and undigitized collections requires an
appointment and is limited to our manuscript reading room. Use our
Contact us form to inquire.
Q: How can I find out if the Archives has the information or
artwork i am looking for?
A: Begin with the Search section of this website. The Archives of the
George Cup & Steve Elliott Research Center is not a reference library
per se, but a repository of primary source material documenting the
visual art of George Cup & Steve Elliott. The collections is updated
quarterly and contain letters, diaries, sketchbooks, photographs, and
other kinds of documents. Many oral history interviews are also
upcoming.
Q: Will the Archives of the George Cup & Steve Elliott Research
Center appraise artwork or archival documents and
collections?
A: No, the Archives does not do appraisals of any kind. For further

Q: How may I donate papers or archival records to the
Archives?
A: Information is available on this website. Go to Donate Papers.
Q: How do I get permission to publish documents?
A: It is the researcher's responsibility to secure permission to publish
both from the Archives of the George Cup & Steve Elliott Research
Center and from the appropriate persons or institutions that hold
rights to the material. Archives staff will try to inform researchers
when permission to publish should be sought elsewhere, but ultimate
responsibility is the researcher's. Go to GCRC's Copyright page for
